Annual Reports

Each year, the NDUS reports student enrollment and program completion data to the State Board of Higher Education (SBHE) through a series of detailed reports. The links below provide access to a SharePoint library containing both current and historical reports, offering insights into enrollment trends and academic program outcomes across the system.

Awards Conferred (Completions) – report of degrees & certificates awarded in North Dakota, by institution.  This report includes completions for North Dakota private universities and tribal colleges.

Academic Program Enrollment – report of student enrollment by program within NDUS institutions.

Fall Census Enrollment – annual fall census counts, disaggregated by a variety of demographics. This census snapshot of data is used for federal and other official reporting.

Spring Census Enrollment – spring census counts.

Annual Enrollment – reports enrollments across an entire academic year for degree credit, non-degree credit, and non-credit coursework.

State Longitudinal Data System

The North Dakota State Longitudinal Data System (SLDS), managed by North Dakota Information Technology (NDIT), securely connects data across K–12, higher education, and workforce sectors. Its purpose is to support research, policy, and program evaluation that improves outcomes for North Dakotans.

Interstate Higher Education Dashboards

Midwestern Higher Education Compact (MHEC)

The MHEC Interactive Dashboard offers data and key performance indicators to improve educational attainment in the Midwest and nationwide. Indicators are categorized into Context, Preparation, Participation, Affordability, Completion, Finance, and Benefits, with subcategories highlighting opportunity and achievement gaps by income, race, and ethnicity.

Western Interstate Commission for Higher Education (WICHE)

WICHE’s resources, including Tuition and Fees in Public Higher Education in the West, Regional Fact Book, and Benchmarks offer policymakers and stakeholders state and regional data on postsecondary access, success, demographics, and higher education finance.

State Higher Education Executive Officers Association (SHEEO)

The SHEF state profiles provide detailed visualizations of student enrollment, state funding, and tuition revenue for North Dakota and other states, offering a comprehensive view of higher education finance.
